  1. Both.

There's evidence of evolution, but the ability of adapting and changing couldn't come from an explosion.

  2. Evolution is correct.

Creation is stupid and has no proof what so ever. Both is stupid because that completely denies gods word in the bible.

  3. evolution.

the whole "God created the world" thing is pretty ridiculous. what evidence is there for this? nada. the bible is not evidence, fyi, 'cus for example was anyone else there when 'jesus' saw him in a burning bush or whatever? no, so when he told the story he could have been lying for all you know.. along with a bunch of other things from the bible.

research, science, evidence all show that evolution happened.

but in the end it doesn't really matter what you believe because it won't change anything.

Oh, and i have to add (to the person above) an Ape can't literally turn into a human, do you even know what Evolution means? it would take many years for a *species* to evolve.

Also, the whole creating building, watches thing you are talking about.. um yah those aren't living things, we can't build/create a living thing.

  4. Both, God is the author of creation and evolution is the tool He uses.

  5. Evolution! God doesn't exist!

  6. Tao's answer is one of the reasons I wish I could give more than one thumbs up per answer.

That's all I wanted to add.

  7. Both i'm a christian and i'm a science fan, religion can tie into science very easily. For example, God made the Earth in "7 days" apparently. Who knows what a day is to god, make a day to God is 7,000,000,000 years. Maybe it took God a while to perfect us and make us human (evolution) but hey thats just my point of you, take it for what its worth

  8. Creation

  9. My view is this. Creation is the only answer.

If we evolved from apes then why do apes still exist and why have we not seen any evidence in our age of technology over the last millennium to prove that transition from ape to human?

Also, no one would ever believe even the most basic of creations which is also quite intricate a WATCH would magically appear in a poof of smoke. It HAD TO HAVE A CREATOR.

If I drove down the street and saw a new structure such as a business or home ; I wouldn't consider it as having evolved from anything but having been created as we have all at one time or other seen people building. It is not reasonable to believe otherwise.

Surely something as complex as a human demonstrates a creator.

While I will agree that an ape like many other animals are a marvel they are by far not human nor have they ever been human. They are simply what they were created as. Apes.

When I see an ape evolve into a human then evolution will have merit.

That is my own viewpoint on the matter. I will not allow for supposition and theory to sway me to the contrary.

  10. Don't even go there.

  11. i dont believe we were "made" by someone who watches us all the time.. thats just crazy. i think we were.. an accident.

  12. "Die Religion ... ist das Opium des Volkes"km.

  13. My view is that this question has been asked so many times, I doubt you will get unique results.

And Evolution (this coming from a religious man).

  14. hard evidence says evolution

  15. I believe my Gods were the driving force that caused evolution.  I do not in any form believe in the creation myth found in the bible.

EDIT: And to the guru, who claims we would have a conversation with one other species, or another species can reason.... we can talk to chimps, and they can communicate back.  Apes are able to reason, and have a concept of the self.  Put a random animal in front of a mirror, and it thinks its another animal.  Put a mirror in front of a gorilla or a chimp or an orangutan or any other great ape, and they know its themselves they are looking at.  They don't get angry, that start looking at themselves in their mirror. First time they know what they look like, its a beautiful thing to watch.  Dolphins and whales communicate with each other.

This one female baboon got tired of digging up the wild yams and eating it with dirt.  So, she went to the river, and washed it.  Soon, the younger baboons that saw her, started doing this.  Then the middle aged.  Then, just like in humans, the older ones were set in their ways, it took them the longest to start doing this.  An animal... washing its own food before eating it.  yes, this is a true story, with EYE WITNESSES.  Something that is missing a lot in these discussions, with mindless bible quotes, and no personal experience to back them up.

  16. I believe in the Bible record.

It really does not take that much time for God to create anything.

  17. Creation.

For one, if evolution occurred, wouldn't it make sense that at least one other creature would have the capacity to reason or hold a conversation?

If you believe in the Bible as I do, then you'll find somewhere in the beginning of Genesis (I forget the exact verse) where it says God created all of the animals AS THEY ARE, not as they were. That's how all versions of the Bible have it, mind you.

Edit: The Mister Master, you need to read my profile bio.

Time is a result of gravity, no? Gravity is what causes people to age and trees to whither. Higher gravity would mean a quicker aging process. If you're an Atheist, then suspend your belief temporarily and go along with their being a God Almight--would you believe that this God Almighty is bound by gravity? Of course not. By this logic, then, God is superior to gravity and time.

    Atheism, then, is utterly laughable.

  18. Creation is the truth.

  19. Creationism - no hard evidence

Evolution - tons of hard evidence

    Its Evolution hands down.

  20. The former is utterly laughable.

If you don't know which one the former is, my answer rings true even stronger.

  21. Creation - no proof

    Evolution - proof

i rather believe in something with proof.

  22. Creation is a religious virus, The Big Bang and biological evolution are fact and the scientific laws of the Universe are the gospels of which mankind needs to survive.

  23. Evolution.

  24. Evolution- no doubt.

But different stokes for different folks.

  25. both. and its TOTALLY possible to believe in both.

  26. Well, we KNOW that evolution happens.  If you want to BELIEVE that God was the driver behind evolution, you're free to BELIEVE that, but why bother?  God isn't needed at all to explain anything.

As for your follow up questions...

"Why didn't any other creatures evolve with intelligence to work with tools"

    You mean like chimpanzees?

    Or dolphins?

    http://news.nationalgeographic.com/news/...

Or a number of other animals including otters, badgers and birds?

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:To...

    "Build homes..."

Like beavers, birds, termites, bees and wasps, and any number of other animals?

    "and improve transportation"

You mean like fleas and other parasitic or symbiotic species that hitch rides?

Or do you mean most species of birds or other animals and insects who have adapted to have the ability to fly?

There is no "goal" for natural selection.  We are not the end result of evolution.  Just because we have adapted to have certain traits and behaviours does not mean they are the only successful traits and behaviours.  The traits and behaviours other species have are suited for them.

    Edit:

Some people need to read a biology textbook... "Why are there still apes?"   Wow.  That post was so unintelligible, I wouldn't even begin to know what false assumptions need to be corrected.

    Edit:

Err.  And?  Not all animals are human, but all humans are animals.  These animals are not mimicking human traits.  How did humans teach birds to fly?  Seriously?  Homo Sapiens are not the end result of evolution -- there is no end result of evolution.  Evolution is a process, not a destination.

  27. Evolution has more evidence. So, evolution.

  28. Everything in our being tells us that at some point there was a creative process. We may all not accept religious various explanations but nonetheless, it is apparent that it occurred at one point.

We also have evidence that humans have adapted to their environment over the centuries, changes in nutrition and lifestyle along with a greater mix of genes have allowed us to grow taller and develop greater muscle, bone and tissue mass. It seems reasonable that evolution has altered the human mechanism in some ways at least.

We do not fully understand the full extent of that evolution, but it is apparent that it occurred.

  29. why is there snow rabbits in the Arctic and jack rabbits in the desert?

    They adapted.

  30.      But we can work with tools, build homes, etc.  It's called evolution!!!

The Creationists would have us believe that the World is 10,000 years old, and that people just like us have been around for 6,000 years  Now if they want to believe that, that's their privilege.  The problem is that they teach their kids that nonsense, and that's dangerous.

  31. Either is possible.

We have the technological capability to create virtual universes.  There are thousands, some of the more popular ones being World of Warcraft, the Sims, Grand Theft auto, etc. etc.  If we can create a universe, and turn it off and on whenever we want, then our universe could have been created, and duplicated as well.  The universe that we're in right now could be billions of years old, but it could also be seconds old.

It's also possible that our universe actually is billions of years old, and that it started as a singularity which grew into what it is today.  There is no way for us to know how we came to be here.  We can guess, and make theories, but we'll never know.
