  1. Hmm, how about you write your essay yourself. Wikipedia is your friend although it is a horrible source to cite.

  2. well, evolution is not an ism, and it is a fact, just look at everything around you, the simple fact that there are different races of humans is proof of evolution.

  3. Unfortunately, you can't disprove evolution. And conversely, you can't prove creationism.

That reason alone baffles me as to why creationism is even taken seriously.

(In response to the person above) YOU are proof of evolution. I am proof of evolution. The genomes of every living creature is proof.

  4. Evolution is observed in the fossil record and verified by genetics.

Creationism is ignoring the obvious data and supporting an idea that some supreme being made the universe and the Earth including humans in their present form.  There are hundreds of billions of galaxies in a universe that is 14 billion years old.  If you look in the sky you can't even see 1 millionth of the stars in our galaxy with the naked eye.  Assuming there is a creator of all that and he is involved in our lives seems delusional.  There may be superior beings or being involved in our life and even a soul but the idea of a single creator watching over us belongs in 14th century.  It is simply not credible.  Reducing the inconceivably vast and old universe to something centered around humans cheapens its majesty.  If there is some being that created the universe, why create over 10 trillion billion stars of which ours is apparently ordinary.  Why wait 14 billion years to create humans if we are so important.

  5. As the previous answer stated there are many types of thought considered creationism. To get it to the very basic problem is the term "random". Some creationist have developed the concept of "Intelligent Design" as the "science" to contradict "Natural Selection." Now, natural selection isn't actually "random" but it can lead to flaws in nature and those who want to disclaim the "intelligence" say that the flaws prove no intelligent intent.  Creationist have examples of many creatures who have systems of survival that defy all explanation. Sorta like how does a grasshopper know to be green??? When we figure this stuff out and control it, just think we could change to match the wallpaper and more or less disappear. Brave New World fast approaching.

  6. There are plenty of sources disconfirming creationism, but no valid source to disconfirm evolution ( which is observed fact ) and the theory of evolution by natural selection ( which explains evolution )

    http://www.talkorigins.org

    http://www.actionbioscience.org ( click on evolution )

    creationism has no proposed theories.

  7. Evolutionary Biology consists of the universally agreed upon fatcs of physical science, found in the known universe.

Creationism speculates about what may have existed before the universe came into being, and to the unknown nature of its causes.

  8. Here's the problem The issue isn't an "either or" one debate. It's not a political campaign where negative attack ads will cause voters to switch sides. Every culture, tribe and people  have creation narratives. If people believe in creationism, which theory is the "right" one?

Here are the theories that are currently in vogue. Remember, they are only theories

"Young Earth" Created by supernatural means 6-10,000 years ago

"Old Earth" Earth is millions, not thousands of years old. This theory has several versions:

"Gap" Earth is old but had fallen into decay. Life was begun on the old planet. This does address fossil evidence.

"Progressive" God allows certain things natural selection and mutations to occur but will directly intervene as required.

"Framework Interpretation" holds the Genesis account isn't literal but more represents the outline of how life came to be.

"Day Age" Here it's held that "Day" can be thousands of millions of years. The world was crated in 6 "days" but it was over a very long time.

"Theistic" AKA  "evolutionary creationism", creation is compatible with  scientific theory (evolution) as it is a tool used by God,

" Literal" God created everything in 6 days right before 23 October  4004 BC. Everything in Genesis is correct and true.

When you research creationism you'll not that more of the 'proof" consist of attacked on evolutionary explanation. That's where the negative attack ads come in. I've often seen a laundry list of supposed lies and mistakes made by evolutionists. Problem is they are inaccurate and worse knowingly fabricated. One example is Java Man and a list of how few bones were found. What isn't mentioned is that on site in China produced the bones of 40 individuals. Get the picture?

  9. i don't think you can find 'proof' of either

  10. Well, creationism is a religion and evolution is a scientific fact.  www.talkorigins.org is a good start.  There is a lot of evidence of evolution from lab tests with bacteria to looking at the fossil record.  www.talkdesign.org provides good information about intelligent design.
