Question:

Creative People Needed!?

For English class, I am required to create a "Literary Portfolio". This is just a collection of my pieces of writing throughout my grade 9 year. This part is done. I need help on the creative aspect. I need to present these 10 pieces of writing in any creative way. To give you some examples... kids are making a "cootie catcher" with their pieces of writing displayed on some panels, wrapping their works around a paper towel tube/toilet paper tube to make it look like paper towels/toilet paper, as well as putting their works with burned edges into a glass bottle to make it look like treasure or a secret message. I just basically need a neat way to show my pieces of writing. I am stumped, and any ideas are GREATLY appreciated.. This is due tomorrow by the way.

  1. hmm, lets see. you could write onto wndows/glass panels/acetate sheets, you could illustrate your work with images from www.flickr.com, you could get a really long piece of paper, like a fax roll, write them all on that and seal it with wax or a ribbon, you could cover a 3D item like an umbrella or a hat with paper and pva and write carefully on top? or you could record them acoustically and recite them in an interesting way onto a dictaphone? just some ideas :)good luck!

  2. Oh, you waited too long.

You don't say if there are any size limitations, do you have to  be able to carry it on the bus, etc... Maybe you could glue the pages to a guitar case or build a tinfoil  frame for some kind of papier mache shape, and make your papers the last layer, so they could be read under the glue.

    .

  3. I was going to say laminate them and sew them into a dress, but that might take too much time.  That would've been completely original!  Though if you're good with a needle and thread, you might be able to pull it off.

I guess it would depend on how long your papers are, but you could make a paper machet sculpture out of them.  I hated my 9th grade papers, so I probably would've found an old bird cage and pretended to line the bottom with them, hehe.

  4. If your parents will help out, buy a large lamp shade and glue the papers all around the shade.

You could call your project: An enlightening

collect of inspiration. Maybe your parents will

allow you to borrow a lamp for the project as well.

    Hope this helps.

  5. you could make a diorama, when you take a pretty big box and decorated on the inside with your papers and you can just take the papers, rip them in fours and stick them on the walls of your diorama with pva and then in teh middle, make it simple by just putting a decorated small (maybe dollhouse :P) table and on it a dude writing or something that is the "represention of the form of art that you did"(you can call it that too),you get the point. And you can also decorate the box on the outside and i guess that is simple yet really pretty in the end,i hope you get a good grade :)

    good luck ♥
