If you say run one run, and are going back for the second when you get caught, does the first run count?

if you mean, run 1 run and then go for the second and get run out on the 2nd run? then yes, ONLY the first run counts.

if you hit the ball in the air no matter how many runs you can run, as long as the catch is taken no runs will count.

If you get caught after you have run in the same delivery, any run that you make doesnt count
