I learned this so long ago and can't remember how to get x.

How would you solve doing cross multiplication:

6/x = 18/4

  1. 6/x = 18/4

    Just cross multiply:

    (x) (18) = (6) (4)

    18x = 24

    x = 24/18

    Reduced to lowest term:

    x = 4 / 3 -----> ans

  2. not hard

    To get rid of denominators, you must multiply both sides by both of them. That means 4x.

    This has the result of "cross multiplying"

    4x times 6/x = 4x times 18/4

    so 24=18x

    now divide to get rid of 18

    24/18=x

    simplify

    4/3=x

    1 1/3 = x

  3.                 6/x     = 18/4

                    Cross Multiply

                  X x 18  = 6 x 4

           Divides both sides by 18

           (X x 18)/18  =  (6 x 4)/18

                           X  =  24/18

                           X   = 4/3

  4. 6/x = 18/4

    6 = X18/4

    6 Divide by 18/4 = X

    so X = 4/3

  5. 6/x=18/4

    6 X 4 = 18 X x

    24 = 18x

    24/18 = x

    Simplify it by dividing the numerator and denomintor by 6 which makes

    4/3=x

    = 1 1/3 =x

  6. You would1st multiply 18 and 4, which is 72.

    then u would divide both sides by 6, so u are left with x=12.
