  1. Contact your nearest pony club, you can normally train over their courses for a very small fee. And most clubs have from 40cm through to the big ones.

Have fun, take a friend if you can, or someone on the ground to make sure you are safe.

  2. I live around Lanchasire too. There are farm rides around Lancaster. You pay the owner and they let you ride on their land with optional jumps at all different heights. you can jump any height you want, you can go as far as you want, and you dont have to jump all of the jumps as they are ALL optional. Towards Hexham there are some good courses and I would also recomend looking into the local pony/ riding club as they hold events like that.

  3. Hi there i am starting a xc course up aswell as a horsey holiday place and a livery yard. The course is under construction now and should be ready end of september time or early spring. I know your far away so it wouldnt be a day thing but come friday go home sunday. I am 1mile away from the coast and have superb hacking around me. I also have 29 IAE internal stables, indoor menage with viweing area and sound system, out door menage, show jumping paddock with 3 sets of show jumps, xc with around50 jumps and 2/3 water complexes horse walker and wash down area. We are having some luxury cottages bulit that will be approx £25 pp and caravans that you can also stay in you can also stay in your horsebox if you have living. Theres goingto be 2 levels to jump a middle sized one and a low one if you are interested email me at babeinneed_763@hotmail.com Cheers Danielle

  4. i live in the south east and there are several places to hire with x country courses. most have at least 2 different options for size of jumps. u need to check out local livery yards

  5. I live in the US so I can't really help with locations. The cross country courses around here are open several times per year for what they call "schooling days." Some schooling days are organized and open to all, or some places will let you schedule a private schooling day for a fee. Some places here require that you have a coach or ground person especially if you are under 18. I can only imagine that things would be similar in the UK.

  6. A lot of equestrian centres do in fact hire out their x-country courses. Now is a Good time to look, because events normally take place in autumn and winter when the ground is a little softer. You could check your local horse mag for training days or ring around to find out what is available for hire. It may be a little expensive, it is worth going with a couple of friends or joining a riding club.

  7. most xc country course hire them out for a small fee so you can just potter round and get your horse used to it or practice. best way 2 find out is by asking :)

  8. just go pop round badminton.  ul b sweet.

  9. in the south east,

    hobbs cross,

    cross country course :)

  10. There are loads in Scotland,

    Halliburton and Ochliche,

I have only done them once or twice but then I moved onto dressage,
