What do you think I should get a Crossbow or a Bow. Crossbows take no time to master and bows might take years. Please solve this because I am sick of deciding.

  1. i have a compound bow. i used to love going hunting, but now i don't care for it. get a bow though. i mean everyone likes a good challenge.

  2. depends what u are going to use it for and how much your to spend

both can be used for hunting

however a bow requires more muscle and help build it up

    but crossbow are more money

  3. Stick with a good compound bow, they honestly don't take too much time to master and they are more practical. There are way more legal restrictions on a crossbow than on a regular bow.

Legolas is cool. Rambo is cool.

  4. It depends. What are you hunting? Keep in mind crossbows can only be used during rifle season unless you're a youth or you're disabled, checked off by a doctor.

Crossbows require a lot of upper body strength. Even ones with cranks and pulleys still require you to pull at least 80 pounds. Some go up to 200 pounds. That's a lot of force to be pulling. Doing that repeatedly will fatigue you greatly.

A compound bow is common for bow hunting. Get a bow that you can let out a few pounds, so as you build up the muscles in your arms, you can tighten it down. Get one that has a decent let off. 80% is a good percentage. If you're looking for a high dollar best of the best, try the Diamond Marquis. It's a beautiful bow, machined nicely, lightweight, sixty pounds, it has an eighty percent let off with a nice draw length, fully adjustable. Don't forget to get a release -- That'll take the stress off your hand and fingers, and you draw back with your entire arm.

Recurve bows are nice too. The only problem is they don't have a break point, so you're holding all that weight the entire time. You'll fatigue a million times faster.

Remember, when you're hunting, the ethical weight is fifty pounds. Don't shoot anything less -- You shoot to kill, not to wound.

    In short:

Crossbows: Can only be used during Rifle season (NOT Bow hunting season), unless you are a youth (under eighteen), or significantly disabled, marked off by a doctor.

Compounds: Lightweight, easy to draw with a break point, quick, fast, efficiant.

Recurve: Good for learning, youths and target shooting (Although all three forms can be used for learning and targets). Will fatigue faster than any of the other two.

I reccomend a good compound for hunting.

    Good luck!

  5. I personally think bow all the way, cross-bows are hard to load and difficult to handle, just take time tune in your bow and spend the time training, Compound bows are easy to sight in and if your an instinct shooter mabye try a long bow. All your choice but I would say bow.

  6. Use a normal bow, because it looks awesome. You can also pretend you're in Lord of the Rings :)

  7. lol that funny wat brandon said if u just wanna go through the c**p and not train that much then go for the crossbow IF U WANNA BE MORE SKILLED AND MASTER SOMETHING HARDER THEN GO FOR THE BOW its not really my choice just tryin to make it easier for ya
