Crosscountry, water,?

im joining crosscountry this year and our coach wants us to drink 6 bottles of water a day, but after i drink 2 i have to pee like crazy (like every 5 minutes!!) im only 14, whats wrong and how can i fix it, i need to be hydrated for running.

  1. Well, don't drink all 6 bottles at once!!! He means drink that much throughout your entire day. You're going to get thirsty, but drinking all 6 at once will give you cramps. Drink the water throughout the day and you will be fine.

You need to build up to it.  Drinking a lot of water either in a short amount of time or when you are dehydrated is like a heavy rain after a drought - it creates a flood.  Start with three bottles a day, one in the morning when you get up, one with lunch, and one after dinner.  Sip the water slowly over the period of an hour or so.  You'll find that you can quickly build up to the 6 bottles and more without having to pee excessively.  You will probably need to urinate every 1-2 hours, but thats good for your body.
