I have a Nvidea sli compatable psu but after doing research I think that I want to use Ati's CrossFire instead. Can I still use this psu or do i have to buy a knew on. (PSU is 1000watt) Are the Nvidea cables the same as a ATI PSU?

  1. ATI cards only require "X" amount of 6pin connectors.  The only differance in sli is they come with 6pin+2 connectors which has the 2 pins on a pigtail where you can use them optionally.  If you are going to use the 4870 or the 4870x2 in crossfire, then you will have to use 4pin moles to 6pin PCIEx16 connectors because I doubt that you have 4 6pin connectors to spare.  Only thing that is a big deal on using the connectors is putting them on seperate rails so that you don't overload one rail between any case fans DVDrom drives and any Hard drives you have using your other 4pin molex connections...
