Crows are driving me crazy!?

Every morning, at the crack of dawn, I'm awakened by crows on the roof of my brand new house. It sounds like there are about 6 of them "caw-ing" at each other and hopping around. It sounds like they weigh 40lbs each! Not only do I lose sleep, but it sounds like they are tearing the roof up. How can I get rid of these pests??

  1. Birds are leary of things that move..if you hang things that sway in the wind..this may scare them.  You can hang old CDs on strings around your house which should swing and swirl.  You might also invest in a pair of earplugs, or a white noise machine or fan to help drown out the noise.  It is the tail end of breeding season, so these birds may be moving on soon if this is their breeding territory.  This could be a family group that will break up and go their separate ways.  Also, keep in mind that these birds, along with all native birds are protected by law, and cannot be harmed, harassed, or killed. Just be thankful crows are the only thing keeping you awake rather than noisy neighbors, loud music, or gunfire.

  2. Well at my grandparents house they keep a scare crow on the roof >.> trust me I slept happily :] keeps the crows away for them I don't know if it would work for you...

  3. Each morning when you get up, bang something really loud such as a pots and pans or firecrackers. We use to have the same problem. But once we did this a couple of times, the crows went away after a couple of days and they never came back.

  4. get a crow alarm it might scare them away if dont contact your local authority to put something there.
