Cruise Pricing?

I want to get my son & daughter a cruise for their birthday ~ 3-5 days somewhere besides Nassau if possible. They can share a room but need 2 single beds. What is the best line that is also affordable as I do not have much to spend (Hopefully not more than $450 for both combined) Thanks!

  1. You'll have a hard time finding something for that price.  Cruises "average" about $100/day/person.  But you could look at VacationsToGo.com for and idea of what's available.

You don't say how old your children are, but the cruise lines all have age restrictions - usually at least 21yo, sometimes 25yo.

  2. How old are they? You're going with them, correct? If they're under a certain age (21-25 depending on cruiseline), they have to be accompanied by an adult.

You  may not be able to do it for $500 for both of them......plan on at least $800.......especially if u dont want to do the Bahamas. it might come out a bit cheaper.....if u're flexible on ur time frame.  you'll get better deals during off-season....or in the fall during 'hurricane season'.  its totally safe to go during hurricane season....they have massive radars on the ships, so if they know a hurricane is headed towards a port of call, they will just redirect the ship to another area. they wont risk takin 2000-3000 passengers in a multi-million dollar vessel straight into the hurricane.......

they almost always have twin beds in all the cabins. thats not an issue.......

call my friend up on monday.....she can help u out. 1-800-377-9383 (x 226)  or  email her at  fionak@cruiseweb.com

  3. go to www.globetrottingspot.com and click on "great Travel Deals"  located on the bottom of the home page.

    SOme are under $250!

There is also a cruise package link...

  4. i don't know if you can get much for that price and there are also excursions and on board payments so it'll probably be more then that but carnival is the best cruise line i know of and it doesn't cost much for two people to share a room. carnival is also the cruise line where they'll have the most fun and the staff is nice. if you need a travel agent i know a good one. you can go to her website if you want more info and she can tell you which cruise line is best and least expensive for you.

  5. I would suggest looking at either Carnival or Royal Caribbean.  Carnival is generally cheaper, but still a very nice experience.  Also, the cruise lines are also charging a fuel surcharge now based on the length of the cruise, so that is going to increase the price even more.  There are some four day Western Caribbean cruises that are fairly reasonable, but regardless, will be more than $450.  Hope this helps.

  6. You won't get much for that price, a more realistic amount would be 800- 900 at this time of year. We just came back from a 3 day on Carnival, it was 1800 for four people. My honeymoon in November is a 7 day and we are paying approximately 1150. These are all inclusive (everything but soda and alcohol). The service is awesome and the food is even better. There are plenty of activities and shows.

  9. Look for last minute deals...I usually find a cruise on this site because you can compare cruise deals; go to iBtraveling.com and I'm sure you'll find something in your price range there.  You may have to wait until 3 weeks before their birthday to find a short cruise for $450 though...and then there's the "tips" that aren't included in the price.  I believe most cabins (well the ones I've been in) have two single beds, so not to worry about that.  Good luck though...sounds like a great gift!
