  1. yes. its a new law starting this year.

  2. Yes. With the new law in effect, everyone, even children are required to have a valid passport.  They wont' stamp anything on your passport, like they do if you are flying to a foreign country, but they will scan your passport through the DHS system upon your departure and return.

  3. As of this year, yes.

  4. my answer is to say yes...although i have heard on the news that it is only for air travel that you will need a passport to get back into u.s.    but to be on the safe side i would have one even for cruise travel.it takes up to 2 months for a passport to go thru so start now..      you can also fill out the application online ,but 1st timers still have to take the app into main office

  5. They are all wrong.  Not this year.  The law has passed but only means by AIR.  By land or sea, not til next year.

  6. I would definitely get a passport, if only as a cover your butt in case you get stuck there.
