  1. actually, really. I want to go on a cruise to alaska.

but if i had to choose between the two listed I would go with the first one. I'm not sure about Haiti. Isn't that where zombies come from?

  2. With either you will have a great time... the real question is which cruise line????

  3. San Juan, Puerto Rico; Philipsburg, St. Maarten; Labadee, Haiti

  4. I've never been to any of those places, and a few I'm not familiar with at all, so either would work for me. I LOVE cruising so it really doesn't matter to me where the ship takes me. ☺

  5. The first one you listed is the best.St Thomas has great shopping and beaches and St Marten is beautiful. In Puerto Rico you can take a cool tour of the old fort.

  6. I like - San Juan, Puerto Rico; Philipsburg, St. Maarten; Labadee, Haiti.

I have been to all of these places except Labadee so I would want to visit there.  Either one of these itineraries would be great however.

The more important question to ask would be which ship and which cruise line would you take.  It can make a big difference to pick the right line and ship for you!  Have a great time!

  7. My favorite Caribbean island is St Thomas as the snorkeling is great there. But since I have never been to Haiti, then I might pick that one. The thing about Haiti that makes me a little nervous is the possibility of pirates, but I know that security is very tight, especially at ports such as this.

  8. Personally i think i will choose the first one.

  9. Those are Eastern Caribbean cruise itineraries and I have been to all of those multiple times.  The only difference between the two itineraries that you listed is one goes to St Thomas and the other goes to Haite.  If your itinerary includes Labadee then it's a Royal Caribbean or Celebrity cruise and that is the port stop for their private island.  Its a beach party island and THE BEST private island I have ever been on/to on any Caribbean cruise.  It is a huge place that even has a tram to carry you from one side/end of the island to the other.  It has a huge craft markets so you can buy all types of native paints, carvings, baskets, and other things.  There are more than enough free beach chairs and plenty of shaded areas.  The island is actually a peninsula that has multiple beaches for swimming, snorkeling, or just sunning.  The activities include a zip line that run from a mountain top across one of the beaches.  It also offers canoing, jet skiing, para sailing, and an ocean play area called Arawak.

St Thomas is the number one place to go in the Caribbean if you want to shop.  There is a huge shopping area right at the pier and then if you want more the main streets in town have all of the name brand clothes, jewelry, and about anything else you want.  St Thomas also has some great beaches like Megan's Bay and Sapphire Beach.  But you will pay about $10 to $20 a persons to get to the beaches by taxi or van and more if you go on a ship's tour.  Remember the beaches at Labadee are free; just catch the tender to shore and you are there.

So the difference between these two is shopping vs beach time. My preference would be the second and go to Labadee; next time I am there will will do the zip line for sure.

  10. The 1st one.

  11. I've been to all those places.  Labadee is no big deal...just a small hole-in-the-wall place, with a beach and vendors.

If you like to shop, your best bets are Phillipsburg and Charlotte Amalie.  St. Maarten also has beautiful beaches.
