Crysis very high settings?

Question

Can you play crysis on very high if you have XP? And what is more important to make crysis look better DX10 with as high other settings as your comp can go or DX9 with as high other settings as your comp can go?

direct x is usually for sound not really video

but obviously dx 10 would be better

Crysis on very high will take a very high end graphics card. At very least a GeForce 8800GTX, and to play it smoothly at least 2 in SLI or one of those new GeForce 9600GTs. Its really preference if you want to run it in DX10 or 9. DX10 will have a better 3D quality and thats about it.
