Culture adventure?

I am planning to go to London around the summer of 2009. I am 15 and am currently trying to convince my parents that if I get a scholarship I can spend a semester in France.

Father is slightly reluctant. I understand why and everything but I still want a adventure where i can learn some culture and see some diversity,

Any Ideas?

  1. You want adventure- stay right where you are.  Get through with a great education- college - then go explore the world!  Wait for the adventure, but gain the groundwork now to do anything you want to do.  The businessworld is tough, and the better prepared you are -- the BETTER!  Make the most out of yourself as you can.  Think about what an employer wants out of an employee - be a go-getter!

  2. I think that Europe is so modern and much ahead with many things.  You'll find that certain technology is available there that hasn't come to the States.  Also fashion is much ahead in Europe as well.  Everyone looks like themselves rather than everyone looking like a store in a mall.

But most important is the culture there.  There are many areas to learn.  You can visit London and see lots of shows that haven't yet appeared on Broadway.  You can find out about history by visiting the Tower of London and various castles.  You can immerse yourself in different modern cultures as London really is a melting pot.

In Paris you will find the same plathora of choices as in London.  I happen to love climbing the Eiffel Tower and having a look around.  You can also take a boat around Paris which is fun.  You will see most "major" buildings.  A trip to Versailles is worth it.  The sheer size of the castle and the surrounding park will make you understand the sacrifice the french people made to keep their kings in such high living -- and wasn't sustainable.

  3. wait a few years! you need money, independance and maturity, everything you dont have!

I am 22 and still need to visit my mum and dad every now and again and i only live 100 miles away!

you are too young to wanna go!

Plus, I've been to London and people are quite mean!wait a bit!

arguing you are not too young highlights your immaturity-we are older and wiser so it very rude to dispute our advice.

we are telling you that your too young for your own good, but if you would rather move abroad, p**s off mummy and daddy, have a c**p time in a language where you cannot even speak your native tongue, miss out on all the stuff 16 year olds need to do with their friends at home, and get lonely because people at college in England just hang out with their high school friends, then go for it.
