DVD burning problems?

Hey everyone! I just burnt a dvd on a DVD-R, and when I put it in the Dvd player, I can hear the audio just fine, but the video is black and kind of looks like VHS's used to when the tracking was messed up. It won't play in my Playstation either. Any ideas why? Any help would be appreciated! Thanks in advance.
