DVD onto PC?

Question

I want to rip DVD's onto my PC but I don't want to burn them on blank discs. I also want them to be in .avi format when I rip them, so that I can watch them on my pc. I don't want to burn them onto blank discs, I just want to have the movie file on my pc without having to use a DVD disc. Anyone Know what kind of program I need to be able to do this?

Most DVD ripper software can help you.

There is one I have been using for quite a long time, called wondershare DVD ripper platinum. It can rip DVD to avi with high quality and speed.
