DVD+ vs. DVD-?

I can record/copy DVDs on my laptop. Also, just found out I can put data, pictures, etc onto DVD. My question is what's the difference between DVD+ and DVD-?

  1. The truth is, not much. If your drive recorder is a combination unit, either format will work


  2. In the year 2008, there really is no difference anymore as pretty much ALL PC DVD burners on the market now will burn on both of them.

    Back when the burners were first coming out, some would only play on DVD-R and some would only do it on DVD+R.  This is no longer the case and all burners on the market now have the ability to burn to either format.... and several more.
