how many of you think nascar played favorites to jr. again sunday by letting him break the rules without a penalty. i guaranty you if it would have been any other driver they would not have reversed their decision. you cannot pass safty crews at a unsafe speed.

  1. He got the speeding penalty but the dangering people they let go.  I think NASCAR is fair and they would not hold back throwing the literal book at him if they thought it was wrong.  No favorites at all.

  2. he took his speeding penalty and went to the tail end of the longest line but they saw he wasnt clost to the safety truck crew at all so they took away the one lap down penalty.

  3. cry me a river...

  4. That was just wrong that he got a free pass on that one. If nothing else he should have been penalized for the speeding.

  5. They play favorites alright.

  6. you need to watch the race!

  7. The reason that they reversed their decision if you had been paying attention to the race was the fact that he DID NOT endanger the safety crew. Stop with the ooohhhhh Nascar is out to make Dale Jr champion this year blah blah blah, the same thing could be said for Kyle Busch.

As far as speeding down pit road, the penalty has always been that you start at the end of the longest line. Which shockingly enough is what he was forced to do! Oh goodness me, hes such a horrible guy for speeding down pit road Jr should have been parked by Nascar for the rest of the race for having slammed his car into the wall and then speeding down pit road to stay on the lead lap.

I guess if it would have been someone other than a Hendrick car it would have been ok?

  8. they said they reviewed it and he was not endangering anyone..besides when NASCAR does decide to play "favorites" it isn't just Jr.

  9. I hate to say it, but I do think at times NASCAR plays favorites. Jr should've definitely been hit with a bigger penalty than just starting at the tail end of the longest line, especially since he broke the rule on purpose. And it's odd at times that when a certain driver is running second, with no way of catching the leader, a caution will miraculously come out. Strange.

  10. The only thing I'm gonna say is that no matter what Jr does or doesn't do some people think it's wrong and that NASCAR'S easy on him well he gets treated just like the other 42 drivers. And that's the way it should be!!!

  11. thanks rob.  good answer.  the speeding by safety equipment penalty is a judgment call.  might they have judged it differently if it was someone else?  maybe.  maybe not.  when you become a nascar official, you can make the call... ok?

and he did receive two penalties - one for pitting while pit road was closed, and one for speeding on pit road.  they just both happened to have the same penalty - tail end of the longest line.  i don't think they could make him go to the tail end of two longest lines... so he went and joined kyle (who pitted while pit road was closed to replace his batteries) at the back.  done.  move on.

  12. hmm just like Kyle Busch gets away with evrything right when he rams cars after the race because he is having a hissy fit

  13. Have you guys not had enough of this yet.  HE DID GET PENALIZED FOR SPEEDING DOWN PIT ROW.  HE ALSO GOT PENALIZED FOR ENDANGERING THE SAFETY WORKERS TOO.  AFTER REVIEWING THE TAPES, THE PENALTY FOR ENDAGERING THE SAFETY WORKERS WAS REVERESED BEACAUSE THEY SAID THE SAFETY WORKERS WERE NOT IN ANY DANGER BUT THE PENALTY FOR SPEEDING DOWN PIT ROW STILL STOOD, THUS THE REASON HE STARTED AT THE BACK OF THE PACK ON THE RESTART.  THIS HAS BEEN EXPLAINED ON HERE NUMEROUS TIMES SINCE SUNDAY.  GET OFF OF IT ALREADY PEOPLE.

IF HE'S GETTING ALL THIS SO CALLED HELP THEN WHY THE **** HAS HE NOT WON A RACE YET.  EXPLAIN THAT ONE THOSE OF YOU THAT KNOW EVERYTHING.

  14. Pit road was closed when he was speeding...penalty for that is tailend of the longest line...same thing for Busch..he pitted when pit road was closed and went to the tailend.  For once, Nascar made the right call.  But Jr Hation will always say he is favored.

  15. Jr is absolutely getting help or specialized treatment to try and get him a win.  Not just by Nascar but by Hendrick, too.  If you don't beleive that just take a look at Jimmy Johnson & Jeff Gordon's year so far.  It won't be long before all those egos clash & Hendrick will get just what he deserved for canning the 2008 Sprint Cup points leader.

  16. Here... Have a hanky. There are tons of questions that already address this issue if you use the search feature at the top of the page.

  17. according to Nascar after reviewing the tapes, they are the ones who decided to rescind the penalty and after all its Nascar's call.  I am a Fan of Jr as well as many others and I was puzzled at this call also, and NO I do not think they are playing favorites..if so he would have already won..he will get a win possibly he is running consistent but not yet on top of his game as well as the other Hendricks Cars..no wins there either

  18. First of all, the one lap penalty for passing the safety equipment is a judgment call. It was a sweeper truck on pit road, and there were no safety workers outside the truck in harms way. He also never came anywhere close to the truck, that's why the call was reversed after reviewing the video.

Second, the penalty for speeding on pit road during a yellow flag is going to the tail end of the longest line, which he did. Should they make up a new penalty just for him?

  19. Wasn't  the first time you can be assured it won't be the last.  Is the penalty for speeding on pit road or around safety equipment the same for every race?  Or maybe the rest of the rule should be, it depends on the driver.

  20. Man I am really getting tired of hearing how the are favoring Junior in Nascar.   He gets treated just like everyone else does.   He took his penalty for speeding he went to the back of the line.   He DiD NOT put anyone in danger so they took that penalty back.  Get over it.
