  1. Moat are in pleasant grove just east of down town dallas. My area of town is all hispanic and its called the grove. Farmers Branch just gives you a hard time if your not legal.

  2. everywhere, nice latin neighborhoods are in farmers branch and irving. i'm sure there are more but those two come to mind.

  3. This is strictly my opinion. You might very well disagree with me. But I'll give you the best advice that I can give. I'll just discuss inner Dallas, because that's the area that I'm most familiar with.

good parts: I'm assuming you mean low-crime, good schools, good/affordable housing, good jobs, etc....in short, nice, desireable areas

The only good part of Dallas that I know of (in fact, the best part, in my opinion) is Oak Cliff's Kessler Park area.

As far as I know, they have relatively low crime and pretty good-great housing....but housing is pretty expensive (however, with the mortgage crisis, I'm still not sure about that...you'd have to check that out)....and I'm not sure about the schools. You'd have to check them out online. If you're looking for Mexicans, the area near Kessler Park (around Cliff Temple Bapt. Church) is full of them. Also, around Davis St., part of Jefferson Blvd., Edgefield (all or part of it), Zang Blvd., 10th St., and so on.

That whole area of Oak Cliff (at least alot of it) is predominantly Hispanic, as far as I know. As far as demographics are concerned, the net should help you.

Now, Kessler Park is predominantly white (Anglo). I'm pretty sure it is. Anyway, I would say that Oak Cliff's Kessler Park is the best part of Dallas.

I don't know of any other good parts of Dallas....but that's just me. Again, the net should help you. Perhaps areas in North Dallas might be good.

As far as the bad parts of Dallas are concerned:

all of South Dallas (as far as I know), all (or most) of south Oak Cliff, parts of East Dallas, and maybe some parts of North Dallas. Parts of West Dallas might be bad, but I'm not sure about that. Pleasant Grove in the Southeast Dallas is pretty bad....very crime-ridden, drugs, etc. There are parts of the downtown area that I would definitely stay away from...unless I absolutely had to be there. I've had a few close calls. In the Oak Lawn area (north of downtown), I'd be very careful, in that area. There are alot of bars (mainly g*y/L*****n bars), in this area. Oak Lawn is the g*y and L*****n capital of Dallas. Because of the homosexual nature of the peole, and because of the bars,...I'd be extremely careful about that area. During the day, this area might be all right...but at night...I'd be very, very careful.

As far as finding Mexicans in Dallas....you can find them in parts of Oak Cliff (as I just now mentioned), East Dallas, West Dallas (maybe),  North Dallas and the downtown area. As far as South Dallas is concerned, that area is mostly African American.

Well, that's all I can think of. Again, you'll probably have to go online to get info on Dallas neighborhoods. You can find Dallas-area real estate sites, online, as well.

    Good luck with your search.

  4. "Where are all the Mexicans like me?"

....Well, that depends! What kind of Mexican ARE you, silly?...

If you are looking for a HEAVILY Mexican immigrant/1st generation American neighborhood, you might like the Bachman Lake area in west Dallas. I generally *LOVE* Mexican people/culture and understand spanish ok, for a guerra, and sometimes this area is just too much Mexico for me! Of all the neighborhoods I'm gonna mention, this area will be the cheapest to live in, but also has the most crime.(Lots of people from El Salvador live in this area too.)

Just south of downtown, Oak Cliff has a young, largely hispanic population. Personally, I think Oak Cliff has a much worse reputation than it deserves. Of course, there is some crime there (just like ANYWHERE in Dallas County!), but I think people make it seem less safe than it really is. (Boy, I would feel really bad now if you move there and get shot or something...uh...) The stereotype of this neighborhood is that it's where a lot of working class Hispanics and young thugs live.

Another neighborhood to consider is the Knox/Henderson area off of 75*. Knox St is west of 75 and is mostly young-ish white professionals and students. Henderson St is east of 75 and has a strong Mexican American community. This area is becoming more expensive, but is still pretty reasonably priced. This would be a good area for a family where Mom and Dad speak spanish, but know a little english but the kids want nearby access to a lot of "hip" and/or  "white" places. (The other neighborhoods I mentioned would be better choices for someone not yet comfortable with english looking for an environment where they can function almost 100% in spanish.)

Outside of Dallas, the North side of Fort Worth is largely Hispanic, safe and generally cheaper than Dallas.

If it's just you (not like a family situation), and you are comfortable with english, I am happy to say you will find brown people...EVERYWHERE! (Unfortunately, you will probably find a few haters everywhere too. If you do, just be very nice and politely remind them that this area WAS Mexico before it was Texas! That'll shut 'em up!)

    Bienvenidos!

(*Side note: "75" is also called "NorthCentralExpressway" or just "Central". Almost every freaking highway in Dallas has 2 names! It was MUCH easier to get around town when I realized this!)
