Danby DDW396 (powder issue)?

Question

This question is for a friend of mind that is having issues with her Danby DDW396. She saids that its not cleaning the dishes and its got some powder substance on them. Could anyone hook me up with an answer for her please? Thanks!

Is she using a powdered dishwashing detergent?  Maybe switch to liquid or gel.  How about a rinse conditioner?

Do you know how hot her water gets?  Some portables have heating problems.
