I need 2 costumes.

1) I am doing my senior solo and a lyrical piece. I haven'e decided on the song yet but it will have an emotional vibe.

2) I need 2 costumes for a duet me and my friend. It is also a lyrical piece.

Thank you!

  1. Well for your solo I reckon a lyrical dress, kinda like some of these:

http://www.auroradancewear.co.uk/acatalo... - but in a darker colour, dark blue or dark green?

http://us.st11.yimg.com/us.st.yimg.com/I... and http://us.st11.yimg.com/us.st.yimg.com/I... - they're the same in different colours. again, dark green, dark blue or maybe dark grey or burgandy.

You could also use a leotard and make/buy a seperate skirt. Because lyrical is meant to be soft/flowy (or even if it's dark/stroppy too) I think that skirts (about that legnth - so they can sort of float) generally look nicer than a short skirt or leggings/pants but some wide leg jazz pants and a leotard can look good to sometimes. A flower/hair decoration matching your costume makes it look more 'complete'.

For your duet you don't have to both look exactly the same - a red and blue leotard with wide leg black jazz pants, or green leotard with green skirt and green leotard with black wide leg jazz pants.

  2. Male or female costumes? Harlequin in red, white and black...girl handkerchief hem skirt for duet and lavender and violet draped skirt with rose, violet and lavender ribbon belt over matching leotard for solo...flower wreath in hair or about ankle is a nice touch.
