1. it just takes practice. try sitting on a chair with someone holding it behind or with the back of the chair against a wall and sit in the chair like you would normally with both legs up in the strattles. try to kick up your legs at the same time. also you can lie on your back and kick your legs up to the strattles at the same time just as if you were doing a side leap. also mentally think that you can just hit it up there. practice. practice.practice. hope i helped.

  2. plie plie plie. Really, that's the trick. make sure you're turning out from your hips as well.

  3. there really are no tips i could give you because if you have good height its just a matter of practice makes perfect (almost)

  4. just use your plie and POP

  5. The best advice I've gotten about my side leap or straddle leap is

    1. When you are at the peak of your leap, POP your legs upwards as hard as you can

    2. When you shase, step, cross, leap, make sure you plie and PUSH to give yourself more force

Other things that will improve your side leap or straddle leap is

    1. get your middle split all the way down

    2. pretend that there is a string holding your head up, and there is a string holding your legs so they are level with eachother.

Good luck with your leap! :D

  6. I have the same problem. I practise in the mirror and I see what I'm doing wrong and try to correct it and practise it over and over. Also, while I'm doing the dance I always have in mind to remember the leg which doesnt go up.

    Hope it helps!

  7. tyr jumping a little higher and getting more momentum before you leap. If you get your momentum going it will give you more power behind your leap so you can get your second leg up at almost the same time. Practice that and it should get a lot better over time.
