Daniel Vettori Admits Indian Superiority
Daniel Vettori, the skipper for New Zealand, has accepted that his team did not carry the consistency which was rather necessary to challenge the impressively balanced and robust Indian side.

Even after losing the series in an embarrassing way, Vettori completely ruled out the fact that his captaincy was in danger. Before coming to India, the Kiwis had lost a series with a similar pathetic
margin (i.e. 0-5) against Bangladesh. This depicts perhaps the worst performance of the team in its known history.
While talking to the reporters, Vettori claimed that he had led the team as well as he could, however, he also admitted that the results were quite understandable and if the management would feel
like, it will definitely take the decision of changing him.
He was of the view that it was time for him to concentrate upon the mega event of the coming world cup, and before that, to display his strength against Pakistan as it was crucial to build the confidence
of the team to survive in the world cup matches.
Explaining the possible strategy his team was going to follow against Pakistan, Vettori said, “We are far more comfortable playing at home. We need to perform against Pakistan to regain our confidence
ahead of World Cup. Some of the players will have to get back to domestic season. We will try to get back out rhythm. I need to be assertive with the boys to step up and do well in putting their hands up.”
Responding to a question about whether his team did not show its best performance because of lack of confidence, Vettori was of the view that it could be a part of it, but was definitely not the representation
of whole problem, and to figure out the true reasons, they would have to dwell onto the matter quite deeply.
He lamented the fact that his team was not consistent throughout the series. If, one day they performed well with bat and ball, the next day they could not retain it. He concluded his point by stating
that in one day internationals, a team was required to show specific sets of abilities which were truly displayed by the Indian side throughout the series.
