  1. I had a Midi for eleven years. It was the best vehicle I have ever owned. Eventually, body rot took its toll.  I had exactly the same problem as you when the carbon brushes in the alternator wore out at 90,000 miles.  It was an easy task to replace the brushes but even ten years ago, I had problems finding replacements.  Eventually, I took the old brushes to an auto electrician who sold me something similar, which I was able to re-shape with a file.  Good luck

  2. It's your alternator that is at fault.

  3. that's dash board code for alt

you need 9V lighter plug so you don't lose coding

  4. What you say does not make sense unless you do not have an alternator.(because the alternator does the charging after the car starts) refilling the battery from the starter drain.

Now with the lights.....my guess is the electrical part(where the wires are connected to) of the  ignition switch itself is hooped.(worn out)  That can be bought as a separate unit.  Replace that and you are smiling.
