David Carle Hockey Question?

I just read the David Carle story, My question is, Did your favorite team this year do something for a sick child or have a situation occur similar to this. Earlier this year Nashville made a child an honorary player for a game, the child was scheduled to sit on the bench with them during warm-ups, and morning practice, The Predators had a full day lined up for him. He had terminal cancer. Five days before this was going to happen he passed away. So in honor of him they showed a video montage of him with all the players, and attached a jersey to the bench with his name on it. What I thought was so great was that the players had been visiting him for months. But The local news never reported it here.

  1. every year the caps go to the children's inn at NIH which is a home away from home for kids who are receiving treatment for diseases and stuff.  They spend a while there.  Ovechkin also chosses 8 special kids and then buys them season tickets and then they get to ride the zam and they are sown on the score board

  2. Penguins this year in the Eastern Conference finals.

This kid was featured in a long piece on ESPN too.

  3. Let's see. Stamkos as already visited a children's ward of a local hospital. Each game Vinny and Brad (which he said will keep going) have a box for cancer patients and patients of a local children's hospital (I was apart of it one year. Awesome, awesome guys!) Vinny has also donated millions to what will be known as the Vinny Lecavalier Cancer Center at the new All Children's Hospital. The guys also did a make a wish last season with a little boy. They did a full practice with him and made him a jersey and everything. I am sure there are more things, I just can't think of anymore right now.

  4. I know the Devils always visit local hospitals and such!!! Plus have charity golf(when other teams are in the playoffs) outings!!!

When I was younger I attended NJ Devils skate, shoot, and stick clinics for youth hockey. There biggest conquest is there commitment to youth hockey. The "Rock" has NJ youth hockey jerseys all over the arena (3 that I played for too).
