Defenders for my footie team?

I need a few central defenders to boost my squad for the new season in Football Manager. Anyone care to help out?

You have many Good Central Defenders to pick from, for example:

Fabio Cannavaro, Ivan Cordoba, Rio Ferdinand, William Gallas, Lucio, Rafael Márquez, Marco Materazzi, Christoph Metzelder, Alessandro Nesta, Carles Puyol, John Terry, Kolo Touré and Nemanja Vidic.

Out of many others.

Arguably, the two best central defenders who are young players at ~20 who can be pt in the first team right from day one, and thus they would last for the next 16 seasons.

I suggest you immediately purchase the Belgian duo Vincent Kompany and Anthony van den Borre.

You will not be disappointed, and once you have successfully purchased these two, you won't need to worry about your central defenders for the next 16 seasons at least, well, you still need to worry about their substitutes but fret not, you can even put cats as their substitutes for these two don't get injured easily and also they don't get booked often. (for 5 seasons in my game, both of them play every single game straight except for the times when they are called up by their country and they never get injured or red carded)
