Define Tzedakah?

Is Tzedakah just giving money? or could it also be giving one's time to a charitable organization, or some other sort of charity work?

It is charity no matter how you give it.  The definition is charity or some say it has to do with your spirituality.  To me it means to do good things for people not because you have to but want to and expect nothing in return.

Tzedaka actually comes from the word "tzedek" which means "righteousness" (think tzaddik). So I'd guess any type of giving and doing comes under this heading.
