I am getting ready to move to Japan, but am not bringing my kitchen stuff. I need to know a place in Japan that sells cookware(like bed bath and beyond here in the u.s). Is there an online store that i could browse to get prices for things? it's ok if it is in Japanese.

  3. Dihamaru underneath tokyo station,

  4. You can buy it everywhere in Japan.

Yahoo Japan shopping is the best on-line store.

Bed, bath, cars, real estate, Rolex, jewels, mobile phones, almost everything for reasonable prices.

    Have a good day !!

  5. I was in exactly the same boat you are in. Fear not. Japan is a paradise for those who love dishes!!

You can buy kitchenware almost anywhere, for everything from dirt cheap to super pricey. A store like Loft or Mitsukoshi has really expensive gorgeous things, but you can find cheaper goods at Apita or Jusco. . .I personally was fond of shopping at "home centers" like Kahma or Viva Home. You can also buy dishes at the supermarket, at 100 yen shops (dollar store), or at resale shops (like Off House or the Santa store). You can find very high end stuff for a fraction of the price at a resale store (also called a recycle shop). The reason is that young people get expensive dept store wares as wedding gifts and then sell them to get some extra cash.

Something that IS more expensive is any kind of small appliance, such as a toaster, rice cooker, electric kettle,  coffee grinder, coffeemaker, microwave etc. I would definitely shop the recycle shop for those--you do not want to pay $200 for a new rice cooker. Someone might even give you an old one bc throwing these kind of things out is very expensive. But I'd advise you to get moved and see how much space you actually have for appliances.
