Do you like it? Is it an acquired taste? Can good Guinness truly be found in North America?

  1. I very much enjoy it, and always have, but I know that some people feel it's an acquired taste. It's much heavier tasting (although often lighter in calories!) than paler beers, and it's got a bit of a coffee-like aftertaste.

Good Guinness is very difficult to find in North America because many bars with Guinness on tap do not have the correct ratio of nitrogen to carbon dioxide to produce the correct density of bubbles (which generates the beer's signature head). However, it can be found Stateside, you just have to look carefully. Irish pubs are generally more likely to serve a proper Guinness than other establishments.

  2. Guiness tastes really bitter. I know for me, I cant acquire the tase of drinking it. I think it's torture to my body to drinkit, because it is just sod arn bitter

  3. I know for some people, Guinness is something of an acquired taste.  I'm fortunate enough to not be one of those people.  I enjoy it very much.  I live in Minnesota, and it's not exactly the biggest selling beer.  I enjoy the rich flavor, with hints of chocolate, and coffee in the back ground, and the velvety texture it has.  I wouldn't know if it's as good in North America.  I would imagine no.  Beer is always best fresh, right from the brewery.  Great question.

  4. Nope. Guinness is made in Ireland, it's our thing. ;) It tastes gorgeous by the way.. proper Irish beer :D

Alternatively yep, you can get it in North America, but it's better in Ireland :p

  5. I'm from Mexico and we have a similar taste beer called

Negra Modelo, but I still love Guinness better.

It is not an acquired taste, you either love it or hate it.

I went to an Irish pub and it was ok, but sometimes the bartender does not pour it right.

try this beer in winter time.

  6. it's delightful... an oral - gasm!

nope.. best guiness is in amsterdam

  7. Many people are put off by their first taste of Guinness as the bitter, burnt flavour can sometimes take a bit of getting used to.

here in ireland some people put a dash of blackcurrent to add a different flavour to their guinness.
