Diary famring canada and england?

I am going to work on a dairy farm in canada next year and was wondering how it differs to english dairy farms which I am used to. Anyone know??

  1. In Canada most of our dairy farms use a milking parlor, nearly open concept housing in winter.

    But those statements vary greatly by part of Canada.  I live in southern Ontario, and this is substantially corn country. We feed dairy cattle green corn silage and haylage at this time of year.

    Most dairy farms also grow some cash crops around here, things like soy, corn, winter wheat.

    That is because dairy farms can send only a quota of milk to market. If one sends more, one is fined. So farmers have to grow something else too.
