Question:

Did I behave inappropriately in public?

Whenever this guy and I go out, I always sit on his lap instead of a chair, we hold hands, and when we are standing, he usually stands behind me with his arms wrapped around me.

After seeing a movie, we decided to take a drive down to the park. We got to the park and some children were having a birthday party, so we went to the other side of the park. He sat down on a bench and I sat on his lap... facing him. He seemed to be pleasantly surprised and didn't object. We started kissing and he put his hand up the front of my shirt (remember, i was facing him, so i don't think anyone could see). Was any of this inappropriate? Why/why not? Thoughts, comments, opinions?

  1. By the way you've described it, I think you already know it was inappropriate and why and are just trying to evoke a reaction.  If this really even happened.

  2. Yes, incredibly inappropriately.  Are you that insecure in your relationships that everywhere you go you have to broadcast your intimacy?  And have you no self-respect that you'd let him feel you up in public? You can cuddle, slobber on each other and engage in sexual activity in private, do you not have anything else in common that you can't sit side-by-side, hold hands and just talk when out in society?

  3. I'm gonna go with yes, it is inappropriate. You are in a public area with children around. Doesn't matter if you think they can or can not see you. If you are not completely aware of your surroundings at all time, assume that someone can see you.

I'm not trying to rain on your parade at all, i think what you have is great and i've been guilt of doing more than one thing publicly, but I'm just saying...

  4. Yes, it's inappropriate. People don't like to see that. If they want to see that, they would see a movie.

  5. Yes you are acting inappropriately.  You are in a public place with chilren around.

You may not have been doing anything - however it could be cause for some to think that you are - setting yourself open to abuse from others

  6. For him to put his hand up your shirt in public was crossing the line.  The fact remains that there are more people who could potentially see this than you realize, with embarrassing results.  I myself have stumbled into situations like this where the participants believed they were being discreet.

  7. I think all the of the behaviors you have listed are inappropriate in public.

  8. I would say yes, you did behave in an inappropriate way. It was a public park where children were around. It's good that you guys love each other, just wait 'till you get into an apartment or house or something.
