Did I overdose on Hydrocodone???

Question

I am taking a prescribed pain killer for a severe tooth ache. I am taking it to the recommended dosage (one every six hours) or less. I took one at 5 AM, 1 PM and then another at 9 PM. However I noticed that my pupils are extremely small and when I looked this up I read that it is a symptom of overdose? I am warmer than usual, and feel dizzy but I thought that was normal. Considering I haven't really taken that many, am I actually overdosing?

i dont think your overdosing cause you really aint took anough to over dose the pain medication you are on can have that effect on a person who really dont take them

No, you're not overdosing. If anything, you're underdosing, taking one every 8 hours instead of the prescribed every 6 hours. If you'd overdosed on hydrocodone, you'd be asleep or worse.

I think your ok, as long as you took the perscribed dose. I had the same thing happen to me before where my pupils were tiny and I freaked out. Just drink a lot of water to flush it out of your system. Just wait a little bit longer to take the next one. And if your still scared you can always call poison control they are so helpful and nice :) Ive called them many of times and they're always happy to help!

Your symptoms are all very common and normal.  You have not taken very much of this medication.  The usual dosage for acute pain is 1-2 tablets every 4-6 hours as needed.  The usual amount of hydrocodone is either 5mg or 10mg.  Even if you are taking 10mg every 8 hours (as you've indicated) you are still taking less than a "normal" dose.

The biggest fear of an overdose of hydrocodone is that it would slow your breathing.  Hydrocodone is mixed with acetaminophen (Tylenol) so that it can increase the efficacy of the hydrocodone and as a deterrent to abusing the medication.  I would be more concerned with you overdosing on acetaminophen (you are nowhere near to overdosing on acetaminophen).

you are fine this happened to me when I took the recommended amount too.  they are just some of the side effects
