  1. and everyone lived happily ever-after.

  2. Saw something once but it was so high up it could have been a weather baloon,it was a sphere

  3. UFOs (unidentified flying objects) are only unidentified because the observer lacks the astronomical or meteorological knowledge to identify them. That's why you never hear about UFOs observed by astronomers or meteorologists; they're only reported by people who are unfamiliar with what can be seen in the sky. I've been an amateur astronomer for over fifty years, and have never seen anything in the sky that I haven't been able to identify

Eddie, that is the planet Jupiter. Now it's no longer a "UFO"!

  4. o.k..

  5. I bet you did.

  6. i see them all the time

every night recently when i get out of work, there is a ufo in the southern sky (~12am eastern).   there is no way its NOT a ufo.

  7. I did 3 times!!

  8. No i didn't.    : (

  9. Last one I saw was only unidentified until it landed.   It was Jet Blue flight #87.

  10. Was it fuzzy?

    Was it a bright light?

Are you sure that it was not a satellite, space station, plane, balloon or other man-made object? How about a meteor?

I have never seen anything that I could not explain rationally.

    .

  11. I did. It was in 1979 while I was stationed at RAF Upper Heyford, England. At least 500-1,000 other people saw it also in two nearby villages. Several pictures of it were published in a local newspaper.

It was HUGE, black and triangular-wedge shaped. It was several miles away but LOW in altitude....perhaps 1,000 ft up.

It had small lights on the bottom of it. It hovered totally silently for about 15 minutes. Fighter jets were scrambled to chase it. After the planes left the nearby base, the craft rose highly into the sky and zoomed away very quickly. The fighter jets did not get close to it.

It was NOT a balloon. It was not an aircraft with a jet engine. It had no wings or tail. It was not a kite or tethered by a string. It was able to rotate 360 degrees and did so at least 3 or 4 times. It was flying and hovering silently AGAINST the wind. The dimensions where about TWICE the length of a footbal field and perhaps two stories high. It left no exhaust or smoke behind it as it moved.

Over the next 2 or 3 years hundreds of others saw a similiar shaped craft over Belgium and Germany. The same craft was also spotted over Indiana in thge 1990's and witnessed by several police officers who gave chase to it through three counties. Scaryyyyyy

  12. LoL

Geoff G, I was thinking the same thing about Eddie's post.  I thought, "he's gotta be looking at Jupiter".  <shrug>

Anyway, I'm an amatuer astronomer and I look at the sky all the time.  As much as I'd love to see some aliens from another planet swinging by (cause I have a ton of questions for anyone who's figured out interstellar travel) ...

    ... it just hasn't happened.

And by the way, just to reinforce what's already been said, "UFO" doesn't mean alien or alien spaceship ... it means "unidentified flying object" which translates "you've seen something in the sky and you don't know what it is".

Were you to report it, then it would probably be identified, most likely turn out to be something perfectly ordinary, and would no longer be "unidentified" and hence no longer a UFO.

But from the time you saw it and didn't know what it was, until the time when it was identified, it was a UFO.

  13. Yes! I Did!!!!!! OMG I THORT I WAS THE ONLY ONE.!

  14. yes there was one outside my window, it came every night between 3.30am and 5.30am for about a month, that was a few months ago. It was glowing brighter than all the stars and planets in the sky and it would just appear and disappear, it was the only time I have seen one and I now believe!
