they both suited up for team usa and are both nba players. everything else i think is different about them. race, position, team, division, conference, school, background etc.

Actually Kobe is going to end up just as good, if not better then Bird...

Bird also had AMAZING players (Parish, McHale) to help back him up so even if he had a bad game it wouldn't be as big of a deal as if Kobe played bad...

Also, don't blame Kobe...he still had about 26 ppg,  5 rpg, 5 apg, and almost 3 spg...better then Pierces numbers...

Kobe's teamates did not show up AT ALL...

Pau Gasol-15 ppg, 10 rpg...thats it from a former all-star?

Lamar Odom-13 ppg, 9 rpg, 3 apg decent, but misleading

Derek Fisher-11 ppg, 3 apg. Dissapointing...

Vladimir Radmanovic -7 ppg, 5 rpg, and maybe the worst one on one defender to EVER start in the Finals...pathetic...this guy made Paul Pierce look like Micheal Jordan

So before you accuse Kobe look at his cast...talented, but softer then tissue paper...Bynum would have helped out a lot.

The difference is Bird backed up his word by winning. That's the same reason why MVPs of the yesteryears were of high respect because they can back-up their MVP winning with great must-win-every-game attitude. I am wondering now why kids claim that today's era is better.

ok first off that was the last game of the series when they lost in game 6, and he said "not tonight" in game 5 when they won, difference between kobe and bird, kobe is better than bird  was.
