Difference between a chemise and nightie?

What is the difference between a chemise and a nightie. As a crossdresser, i am trying to decide what would be s**y and cute to sleep in. From a previous question, some have said chemise, and nightie and I dont know the difference.

If there is a difference, which would you recomend.

They're similar length but a chemise is usually more lingerie style, so it would be more s**y, maybe lacy or satin material.  It's fun to wear when you want to be s**y in bed :)

a nightie is a cotton dress/shirt, usually what you're refering to as a chemise is lingere...
