Different dna in same person?

i saw ages ago on CSI a guy had dna from skin cells gound at a crime scene, but when they took saliva or blood or something, it showd that the dna profile was very close, but not his. it turned out he had two different forms of DNA in his body, from absorbing a twin in the womb or something like that.

the condition is named after a very old mythical creature with two heads, two fromt legs, and joined at the belly. the heads look like lion's heads i think, but its been ages since i saw the show.

does anyone know what this is called, show me it is possible with "referenced" sources, preferrably from an institution of medicine or genetics, and what the creature was called.

trying to settle a bet with my brother that it does exist.

  1. i agree, of course, with previous peoples' replies. It does exist also in human and a simple paradigm of it is persons who carry 2 different coloured eyes, or in other animals for example that their skin is bicoloured i.e. cats, dogs etc. That is called chimerism.

Of course, it is more rare in humans, maybe cause our dna is more robust or something like that.

  2. its called chimera or chimerism...and yes it does exists...so u win!
