what is the difference between 'polycarbonate' and 'acrylic'?

if i wanted to make a wavy shape from a flat piece of plastic and want it to set hard , which type should i choose?

  1. Either would do this for you.

    Acrylic is probably better in that its available in more colours / effects etc has better weathering performance. cast acrylic is the best. Can be heated to 145 to 185 'C shaped , twisted, thermoformed etc, when cool it will retain this shape. if heated back up to above temperature will try and return to its original flat sheet.

    Polycarbonate as better impact performance when new but does not weather as well as acrylic.
