  1. NO !!!!!!!! its not normal, maybe you have had a over reaction to the drops but stay home till it subsides.

I know its really awful to have that done, well at least my eyes cleared with in a few hours.

If you worried ring that doctor back he may have some thing to counteract it

  2. No worries, you are perfectly normal mate.

Chances are you are dilated with an eye drop (red-coloured bottle) called Cyclopentolate. Cyclopentolate happens to the drug of choice for dilation in your age group.

The duration of action for Cyclopentolate can be up to 36hours. Heavily pigmented eyes tend to remain dilated longer.

    Hope this helps

  3. honestly, they shouldnt still be dialated. Your doc. must have used to much eye drops, and it hasnt wore off yet.  But dont worry, nothing is wrong with your eyes

  4. In a sense, it is normal, yes.

Depending on the strength of the drops they used, it is common to stay dilated  for 24 hours many times...and even a bit more than that is also seen.

It usually lasts 3 to 6 hours, but up to 24- 26 hours is fairly common also. It should go back to normal later today...

It is really annoying isn't it.

It always lasts close to 24 hours with me, and I have to lose a days work !

  5. The biggest thing to learn for you here is:  Always always call the doctor/nurse to ask questions like this.  It is free and you can get some really bad information from people who may not know your other conditions.  If the doctor doesn't tell you to expect a side effect, then it is worth the call and they won't mind.   Next time you get a procedure or a prescription, it is a smart thing to ask the doctor if you are to expect any likely  side effects. (If a prescription, also ask the pharmacist and then review the side effects sheet.)
