Directly to Voicemail.?

I'm looking for a phone number that you call and type in a persons phone number and it will take you directly to their voicemail. My boyfriend keeps getting calls from people he doesn't know and he said there used to be a number to do this, but he doesn't remember. He has a verizon cell phone and said that it was a Verizon Company number.

basically what he's looking for is a number you call... punch in the cell number... and it bypasses the ringing and takes you directly to voicemail. That way you can see who it is with out ringing their cell.
