I would like to buy a dirt bike. I am 13 years old i am 5'7'' and i weigh about 110lbs. I got a dirt bike when i was 6 and i had to sell it when i was 9 and i haven't had one since so i have rode very few times in the last 4-5 years. I have been looking at a CR125 but i don't know if that is going to be to much bike for me to handle. do you think that is going to be to much bike? If so what are some different bikes you would reccemend. Thank you in advance.

P.S. I pefer 2 strokes but 4 strokes will work

  1. I had a CR125 at 13 and I loved it. It is an excellent bike to learn on. These bikes will teach you more skills than any four stroke because you need to focus so much on your shifting to stay in the power. You are the perfect size for a 125 and when you move up to a bigger bike your skill level will be ahead of your peers who rode four strokes. These bikes are also a breeze to rebuild when I raced I would rebuild topend every other race alternatin between ring then ring and piston. It only took about 20 minutes to put a new ring in it and it makes all the difference. Good luck and enjoy I wish I was still able to race enjoy it before your 30 with too many injuries to count.

  2. no a 125 iserfect for you but i say get a yz125 i like them better and they seem more reliable than honda's are get a kawisaki i hate hondas pesonaly my freaind has one and he has had to put over 500 dollars into it because its been breaking down and parts are breaking and his step brother has kawisaki and nothing wrong with his a have a yz80 and i have only had to replace the foot pedal for the shifting and the pitcock but most every bike you have to replace thos types of things but i say yamaha are kawisaki and the suzuki are ktm for me honda is the last resort

  3. I would recomend that you get an 85...125 maybe to much for you to handle, but you should ride someones 85 to see if you like it.

  4. A cr125 would be an excellent bike for you.  Good power ratio and you are plenty big to handle it.  I was smaller than you at that age and I was racing and winning motocross races on a Honda XR125.  Just start slow and get back into the rhythm of riding before you attempt any tricks.  Practice, practice, practice.  Do that and you ll be winning races in no time.

    Ride on dude,

  5. If your looking to race then I would get an 85 because at your age that's what class you would be in and after a bout a year of that I would get a 250F and race that a 125 isn't too much bike but you will learn much quiker on an 85 and be in much better shape

  6. I was all so looking for a dirt bike about the same size. I was looking at a ttr 125, cr125, or klx125. I think a 85 is a bit on the lower end. We have a 250 Dual Sport isn't that hard.
