Disc Burning?

What does it mean when your done burning a disc, and Nero says "Finalizing Disc"?

Nero is only cleaning up the disc, just making sure that all the files are in place, that the files will play without flaw, and to encode final information about the burning.

Finalizing a disc makes it so that you can not write multiple sessions to a disc. This means no more data can be written to the disc unless it is blanked in the case of a RW disc.

Burning  a multi-session disc on the other hand will leave the disc open, skipping the finalizing stage so more data can be burned to the disc at a later point.

finalizing disc means that when you are using just a cd-r that it can not be written over by mistake. it also checks all the data to make sure it burned properly.

A disk has to be closed and finalized in order for it to be read on another computer than your own. Usually, if there is an error in burning the disk, it will find it at this time.

Finalizing a Disc means that the program is writing the Table Of Contents (TOC). This helps your CD player know how many tracks are on the CD or in what order they are to be played.
