Disqualification in boxing?

when a fighter who holds a title fights a title fight and gets disqualified, does the title change hands? or can a title be only won by tko, ko, or decision?

  1. If it's a DQ by the title holder then the challenger will win the title


  2. The disqualified fighter loses his title to the challenger. A recent example would be Roy Jones, Jr. against Montell Griffin in their first meeting. Jones was disqualified in that fight and lost his titles to Griffin as a result. Of course Jones immediately regained those titles from Griffin in impressive fashion.

  4. Boxing Is not the WWE, If you get Disqaulified in boxing in any state you lose your title. And a little credit along with it
