I live in michigan and I'm a 21 yr old female. I don't ever keep the fish, should I get a fishing license? Not familiar with the law, but want to abide by it. Will get one if needed. Also do I have to take any classes, or how much will a license cost? And where would I go to get one?

  1. yes you will need one, you can buy them form wal-mart or on-line, depending on which is easiest for you, please don't fish without one as you can face a huge fine and have all of your fishing equipment taken from you.

  2. Most states you go to it's 15 or older for a license....

  3. Yes. License fees are usually cheap in most states and the money goes to very great causes such as maintaining public waterways and fishing experiences like stocked trout waters. Plus fines are usually high for not having one it will save u a headache to get one. Have a great fishing experience always practice the art of catch and release to help maintain fish populations and take care of the land where u fish as a respect to others and good luck.

  4. you dont need a license if you are sea fishing (thats how it is in the uk anyway)

  5. Yup', you'll be needin' one. Here's the link for Michigan DNR (Department of Natural Resources) in the PDF/Adobe Reader format on fishin' license's. What you'll be wantin' is the RESIDENT "All Species" one, that be 28.00 buck$. Nope, no classes are required ~ just some good common sense. Ya' can pick one up at any "Wally World" aka Walmart, major outlet that carries sportin' goods and or any sportin' goods store itself, orrrr even purchase one Online.

        Good luck and "Fish On to ya' " ;)... < ' ( (( > <

Note: From my just skimmin' over the Online procedures, ya' just may want and go ta' one on the places I've mentioned above, however, Online for you may be the way ~  I ain't good with these D _ _ n computers ;) ;)...

  6. If you are over 16 years of age and you plan on fishing at all you have to purchase one. Even if you don't keep the fish you, you can purchase them for a few days or an annual license, they are pretty cheap so no worries. There are no classes, you just have to present an ID and go to Wal-Mart in the outdoors section. In my state they run around $20-30 annual.

  7. You can get one from the nearest Wal-Mart and it should be something like 8-12 bucks. You need to have one, I've hunted and fished all my life and had Conservation Officers climb out of trees and search me for the requirements, and they will give you anywhere from a five-hundred to 1000 dollar fine. You will not need any classes for just the fishing license. Good luck and happy fishing!

  8. check mich  dnr web page

  9. Yes, you need a license whether you keep the fish or not.

  10. You can get a fishing license at Wal-Mart, local office of natural resources, state park.

Yeas you need a fishing license since you are over 18.  Some states have certain days out of the year (usually a weekend or 2) when you can fish for free, i.e. without a license.  Check your states concervation web site to find out the dates.

You don't have to take a class.
