Question:

Do I need to let the employment agency know?

I was recently exempted from looking for work due to medical reasons. The employment agency have me down for an appointment when my medical runs out. What they don't know is that I was granted disability. They have provided me with nothing but heartache, been rude and nasty and pushy and put me for jobs I don't want. Do I really need to let them know I am permanently exempt or should I let them find it out for themselves.

  1. Employment agency is to help you look for a job. If they are not good and helpful look for another one, there are some good ones around.

  2. Common courtesy requires you to let them know of your changed circumstances. I gather that these people are engaged by the government to help unemployed persons to find jobs. This is not an easy task, and although as you say some of the people there were rude, nasty and pushy, this is no reason for you to be rude or nasty. Just telephone them and let them know that you will not be going to that appointment which they have arranged as you have been granted disability. They will need to notify the company with whom they arranged the interview.
