Do Mommie Cats Still Have Milk??

Even after the kittens are 5 months old ,cuz i have her 3 kittens that are now 5 months old and they still nurse on her,its the funniest thing to see,now should i stop it or just let her do it,she doesn't seem to mind it at all.And why are they doing it they eat plenty of food their just little porkers??Thank You For Any Advise

  1. the milk wont hurt the kittens but you sould try and keep them from nurseing cuz if nursed for to long they will grow a habit of nurseing on there mother when there older and after they grow teeth it could really hurt the mom


  2. You need to FIRST AND FORMOST HAVE HER SPAYED... and then keep the kittens away from her so she can dry up


  3. You could try gradually weaning them off of the mom's milk soon.

  4. It's possible that she can if she hasn't been fixed yet.  I would suggest you get her and all the kittens spayed or neutered ASAP.  If she has been fixed, the milk has probably dried up, and the kittens are just still nursing out of habit and because she still lets them.  I have an 11-month-old that still tries to nurse on his dried-up old momma.
