  1. yes mrs johnson!!!

    she called everybody s****. doo!!

  2. . yes- mrs. grant at the pearl st . school in watertown, ny. in 1952 she was pretty, early 20's, dark brown hair, with a good singing voice, patient and kind. she could really play the piano, and taught us plenty of songs and taught us how to put on a play," the billy goats gruff" i had the lead, and head butted another student off the bridge, just like the story said. new elementary schools had been built in the city, so all of our classmates. wound up going to other schools for first grade. i only saw her once after that: when i was in fourth grade, and had a science project on display at the junior high schools gymnasium. she stopped by with her husband after seeing my father and i setting up my project on a table. i still remember my father and i going to the old baker bros. pharmacy to find something for me to give her for christmas in 1952. i can still see the silver colored, hinged bracelet i picked out for her, and the pretty gift box it came in.i can still picture myself walking up the front steps of that old 4 classroom brick schoolhouse, and how spooky it looked a year later when it was closed down. the empty swings and slide out back in a tiny playground

  3. Yup.  1960.  Mrs. Kugelman, Halstead School.

There were only 8 students in the class.  She was quite elderly at the time.

  4. yes! her name was Caroline and she was kind and sweet and had long brown hair..

  5. Yeah i do, she left for the rest of the year though to have a baby. and i remember i was pissed because i hated the sub.

  6. Yes!  I remember her!  Her name was Mrs. Castle.  I remember learning the alphabet and all the sounds from her using The Letter People curriculum.  It was that year in Kindergarten that I said I wanted to be a teacher when I grew up.  I kept saying that all the way through elementary school, jr. high, and high school.  Then I majored in elementary ed in college and now I've been teaching for 6 years. All thanks to Mrs. Castle's love for teaching and her influence on me.  :)

  7. mrs.aliberti and mrs.graham. i will never forget them & i also miss nap time =)

  8. I think they should institute naptime all throughout school... and heck why not work as well. I loved my kindergarten teacher.

  9. absolutely - I wonder why it is that I can remember it vividly - (her name - the activities, my big tricycle, tricycle races in a painted oval on the blacktop, naptime, my cubby) but I cant remember anything about grades 1,2,4-6. weird.

  10. Yeah I do....she was an old hag actually.

  11. I started school in grade one.  Oopse I guess thats a hint towards my age. But I do remember all my teachers.

  12. I remeber mine. her name was Mrs. Chesnut, perfect and nice teacher.

we got nap time for about 1 hour a day. then got recess!

  13. I had a good one.

  14. I'm 47 - we didn't have kindergarten!  We had something called Head Start, but it was only for underprivileged kids, and I couldn't go - I cried because my cousin got to go and I had to stay home another whole year!

  15. i remember her but we only had half day of kindergarten and went home at like noon or so..

  16. Yes, I do.

    She was a nun ( I don't know if she's still alive).

    She was plump and freckled.

Quite nice except when she got angry.

Once, I escaped from school and she was so mad at me, she was so pale she looked completely white.

She took me home and told my grandmother about my great adventure.

(Come to think of it, it was their fault...I was just curious, saw the gates open and went for a stroll)

And I clearly remember how I wanted to get inside but the nun (Mother Rose) held me tight and made me listen to her version of the story.

She must've felt remorse because some time later she gave me a plush stuffed doll (a dog).

  17. No, but I hope the kindergarten kids I taught remember me.

  18. We didn't have nap time but i remeber her she still works at the elementary school but got promoted to 1st grade lol

  26. No, I went to Kindergarten for 3 weeks and then was sent to first grade.  I remember that teacher.  It's funny to read these answers, though.  I teach Kindergarten now and always wondered whether any of them will remember me!

  27. yup

  28. Yes I do!  I don't remember her name, and I barely remember what she looks like (thin with curly blonde hair).  But I remember the name of the school and the layout of the classroom.  I also remember sitting in her lap and learning how to read.  I also remember our class did a huge nursery rhyme production, and she picked me to be Mother Goose - I got to sit in a rocking chair and introduce all the little skits.  Makes me cry when I think about her and how special she was to me.  I wish I could remember her name so I could tell her that!

  29. i remember her! we didnt have nap time, we just went about 3 hours a day.

  30. Miss Boston. She wanted me to test to skip first grade, but my mom didn't let me! lol
