  1. Very funny, and no. They died out around 25 million years ago! :)

  2. Yes....In cartoons lmao!

  3. Komodo Dragons

    and turtles.

they have been around since the dinosaurs and are sometimes considered as dinosaurs.

im not an expert, but im just saying what i read in books.

as for your nan, well, she must be some strange type of dinosaur or a komodo dragon/turtle.

  4. yes, Susan your next door owns 2

  5. No, they do not still exist.

You nan may resemble one, but I'm sure she's human.

As for the others: there is no evidence that any dinosaurs existed more recently than 65 million years ago, however it is misleading and erroneous to say they ALL died out exactly 65 million years ago.  Many dinosaur species went extinct long before this - 65 million years just marks the end of the last of them.

There is considerable evidence that modern birds are the evolutionary descendants of some dinosaurs.

There are several competing theories about what caused the end-Cretaceous extinctions - here's one of them:

  6. heh - ok amusing.

Dinosaurs died out 65 Million years ago at the end of the Cretaceous period, presumably from a massive asteroid impact in the Yucatan Peninsula. Its unlikely any dinosaurs survived past that time period as the lifespan of a species tends to be about 4-6 million years on average according to fossil records.

Sometimes there are cases where the creatures don't evolve further and because of minimal changes in their habits and their environments remain as 'living' fossils, unchanged since the days of the dinosaurs.

The Coelocanth (sp) is probably the best example of this one though crocodiles and sharks are virtually unchanged since the dinosaurs. Its the same for plants - like the Wolomi Pine.

They tend to be non-mammal non bird species that do this though. I dont know off hand of and warm blooded living fossil species

The chance of their being a living fossil dinosaur is extremely remote so you should be able to enter your Nans kitchen without fear of being eaten.

  7. No.

As for your nan, if she was born like 10 million years ago, then she is, indeed, a dinosaur.
