Do fish get thirsty? ?

they don't get thirsty as such but if they are in the wrong concentration of water they can die of dehydration. so if a fish is stuck in a rock pool on shore after the tide has went out and it is not adapted to deal with that environment, the salt concentration can become higher than what is in the fishes body and the water in the fishes body will start to leave the fish and try to osmoregulate with the water outside. effectively drying the fish out and i can imagine in that situation the fish would feel thirst.

It is not likely.  Thirst is an instinct that motivates terrestrial animals to drink.  Fish get all the water they need and their kidneys automatically keep their electrolyte levels correct.

Fresh water fish do not drink water; they absorb it through their bodies, which makes their body a filter. Salt water fish do drink water; their bodies are sealed from outside pressures, so they have to drink what they need. So yes some fish get thirsty!

It hard to know what a fish is thinking, but, this is what known. Freshwater fish rarely drink because their internal fluid's osmotic pressure is lower than the surrounding water, so water keep seeping into their bodies. They urinate a lot to get rid of excess water. Saltwater fish have the opposite problem, their internal fluid's osmotic pressure is higher than the surrounding water, so they keep losing water. They drink a lot to counter water loss.
