  1. I currently have a friend that is going through boot for the Navy as I write this.  She wrote me to let me know how things are.  She said, that it has been a week since she brushed her hair.  She hasn't had a shower in two days because you only get three minutes for a shower, and trying to get all of the girls through the showers every night is impossible.  The best they do is every three days.  She said that you get used to everyone smelling bad.  The only thing you notice is when someone DOES NOT smell bad.  Make up is not allowed except for pictures and graduation, and it is very minimal at that.  PT is done every morning while it is still dark outside.  She said that they average one to three miles, each morning, when they run.  Your stuff will be gone through, and thrown about upon inspection, and you have to refold everything.  The military is not for the "faint at heart."  You have to be mentally, and physically tough.

  2. Ok. Well, first off, they cut your hair off to your chin in Navy recruit training. You won't be able to wear makeup during recruit training either. And the living situations while you are deployed on a ship might not be conducive to cute outfits and perfectly applied makeup.

If you want to do Navy, go for it. Don't sell yourself short by thinking you are a girly girl and therefore won't scarfice comfort for a great career!

  3. Of course, I know a lot of girly girls in the Navy go to http://www.mynavyonline.com and join and you'll see.

  4. Don't join the Army because if my husband meets you he might make you do 100 push ups just for asking this question and then you might sweat your makeup off!

  5. If wearing make-up is more important than learning to be an adult and serving your counrty, do everyone a favor and don't join. My twin Daughters were both in the Navy for 4 years. They are quite feminine and both now have kids. They also got money to go to college before getting married.

  6. if you haven't graduated yet then go to any military school

you only have to be there for four years and then get a bachelor's in practically anything

the you only have to serve active duty for a couple of years and inactive for a couple of years

also when you graduate they pay for you to go to school so you can get an even better degree

    know you can do it!!

  7. Yes, of course they do.

  8.   You can dismiss the stereotype of most female military personnel being lesbians.

It is true that some military personnel are lesbians, but if you make it clear just what are your preferences, they will back off.

There are some pretty tough women in the military, but even the tough ones, in most cases, prefer men over women.

Make up is very much a part of a woman's world in the armed forces, provided it isn't caked on and overdone.

  9. I went through Navy boot camp last summer. We had one girl in my division that was a big time girly girl. You can't wear makeup at all(except for pictures and graduation, they let you wear a little then) this girl went wild though, she came out of the bathroom for puictures and the RDC's told her to go wash her face and she wasn't allowed to wear it for pictures. They let her try again at grad and she put a lot less on so she was okay. You will have to work hard but it is worth it. I was so proud of myself when I graduated
